I began my studies of the human body as a student at The Evergreen State College in 1981. There I studied Human Development, Anatomy, Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Human Biology, Nutrition, Sports Psychology and Massage.

In the spring of 1985 I began full-time work as a Licensed Massage Practitioner. In 1992 I became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Along the way I have added...advanced sports massage, advanced injury treatment and evaluation, somassage, hot stone massage, lymphatic drainage, intra oral massage and many other modalities. I also have a Level 1 Certificate in Fascial Movement Taping Techniques.

In my career, I have been appointed by two different Washington State Governors to serve on the Washington State Board of Massage. I have worked as an Item Writer for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I spent 10 years as a volunteer for the American Massage Therapy Association-Washington Chapter, mostly as a Chapter officer and in Government Relations positions. Currently I am the President of the Washington State Massage Therapy Association our Mission is to Advocate for Massage Therapy as a Recognized and Respected Health Care Profession. I also have done work with the Department of Health Massage Program and various legal firms, providing expertise in the Standards of Practice for massage therapist in Washington State.
